Elena Marlowe is a painter and illustrator based in Amsterdam. Her artistic journey began in her childhood, sketching coastal landscapes in her hometown of Brighton, UK. She later studied Fine Arts at the University of Edinburgh, where she developed her distinctive approach to combining delicate line work with expressive color.
Elena’s work explores the connection between memory, imagination, and nature. Each piece reflects her interest in capturing fleeting moments — the subtle play of light on water, the emotions behind a gesture, or the fragments of stories hidden in everyday life.
Over the past decade, Elena has exhibited her paintings in group and solo shows across Europe, including Berlin, Paris, and Copenhagen. Her illustrations have also appeared in independent magazines, book covers, and collaborations with small publishers.
Beyond her studio practice, Elena enjoys teaching drawing and mixed-media workshops, encouraging others to discover their own creative voice.
Her latest series, Fragments of Light, continues her exploration of visual storytelling, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and find meaning in the spaces between.
